I met Madison seven years ago at church when she was only in fifth grade. I cannot believe we are celebrating her senior year in high school, yet I am so thrilled for her!
Did I mention before that I’m loving florally-fabulous senior sessions at Blue Door Garden? This was my second senior session with all the flowers at Blue Door, and it’s become a favorite. If you missed my first session at Blue Door Garden with Chelsea, you can view it here.
Madison is a laid-back kind of girl, and taking photos of her is a breeze. Any pose I asked of her looked so natural, and she is just radiant in every.single.one!
After we finished the first half of our shoot at the garden, we moved to our second location just a few minutes away, The Barns at Chip Ridge.
During our planning, Madison asked if we could incorporate a vintage bike, and you guys – I got so excited. I immediately started the hunt. Within 24 hours, I had purchased a bike. Haha! The bike was royal blue, but I painted it gray for a softer look. I also found a vintage bike basket (with a bow and all!) and created a floral arrangement for it.
I am honestly still excited that we were able to bring the bike on location. (Thanks to my dad who let me borrow his truck!) We were all in love.
Madison’s parents joined us on the shoot and they were so helpful. I may even hire them as my assistants in the future if they’re up for it; they were both such good reflector holders, and Scotty even pushed the bike around (and up the hill) for us between shots.
I am so grateful Madison and her parents chose me to capture these photos in celebration of her senior year at Virginia High School. After seven years of knowing her, I can’t wait to see where life takes her in another seven years!
